Hi folks, new to this site so hello to all!
So I bought my Z4 a few months ago, a 2011 e89 n52.
The car has been flawless up until Friday, when a yellow engine light appeared.
The car still runs perfectly mind, though the revs do fluctuate when starting in the mornings, but when it gets going the issue disappears.
My issue is, I cant get it into the mechanics until Friday, and I am due to travel from Brum to Whitby to meet with family on Tuesday morning.
Has anyone got an OBD scanner I could use just to check the fault code to see its safe to make the journey?
Any help would be hugely appreciated folks.
Just for the record, its on 101k having had its last service done at 98k in Sept 2024.
Thanks

Well welcome aboard.

Shame you have had an amber EML appear, but even if you can't identify the fault code I'd make the trip anyway so long as the light doesn't become red!

Thank you!
Was thinking the same to be honest, there's been no discernable change in performance from the car at all.
And worst case scenario, i have breakdown cover!

There are several that'll deliver same day (to me at least) from Amazon, buy one now and have it by 10pm. worth a look?

Or just call some local garages up and ask if they will do a "emergency code read", I'm sure a few will help out.

Buy obd reader, best investment running these cars.
I couldn't run my car without the Foxwell reader i bought.
