Hi folks,

Could someone with a GruppeM fitted to their ///M kindly check something for me?

When fitting mine in December last year, I read the below instructions which came with the unit; http://www.gruppem.co.jp/matching/0_pdf_data/fri-0312en.jpg

However, when perusing this forum I noted a thread further down with a link to the Zpost fitting guide (better than the pigeon English in the supplied instructions!); file:///C:/Users/james.durbin/Downloads/Z4M%20Gruppe-M%20Installation.pdf

The second link suggests there is a thicker O Ring supplied with the GruppeM, which needs to be fitted to the MAF... but I don't recall this being present in mine.

My MAF fits snuggly in the new adaptor plate, having checked last night, but intrigued if anyone else had one supplied?

Cheers.

i would assume it needs an O-ring to make sure the seal is "complete". doesn't the MaF come with its own seal anyway?? usually like a Teal type colour.

Funny you should say that re the o'ring as I was thinking exactly the same. I don't recall replacing it.

However I know where all the bits are that I removed so will take a look and see if the original one is there.

I meant - did you actually finish the fitting of the GruppeM itself ... :P

I remember that when fitting mine, I didn't have one either and the MAF fits pretty snug with it's own O-ring so it's possibly a mistake...not listed on the parts list with the instructions either so I wouldn't worry!

Thanks folks - weird one. As correctly stated, the original MAF does have a green O ring and mine fits snuggly in the updated adaptor.

I called Roy from CA over my lunch break and he is going to investigate. It's more for peace of mind on my side, as no errors or erratic activity have been observed, but will update.

Very quick follow up from Roy at CA - very nice bloke to deal with which is good to know.

"Hi again James
All is well with the intake parts you already have, that ring seal was only a recent addition, not applicable to the earlier kit you received ;)
Pls see reply below from japan ;)
All the best
Roy

Dear Roy.

Hello.

Thick O ring is the attached part added recently.
It is not inconvenient with original green O ring.
Please feel easy.
Please tell a customer.

I appreciate your cooperation.

Thank you.

Did they change the design then with the later kit to necessitate a different ring?

Looking at you link, there is no o'ring listed from what I can see.

Indeed, and the above instructions made by a user suggest it needs quite a bit of force to ensure it fits... which mine certainly doesn't.

I've asked Roy out of interest. Likely to get a reply on Monday when the Japan office are back in.
