I have a year 1945 private plate with just my initials and a very low number, and I think these are the only plates you will make any money on? :)

If i had such a plate, i would only consider no.1, anything else appears 2nd 3rd 4th best etc - just my opinion though

Any plate that just contains '1' and three letters is definately out of my price backet

I have tried to find my plate with '1' but it's not out there, I paid £2500 for mine 16 years ago and I was offered £13k for it by a dealer last year

Mine is on merc slk

it's a shame you can't get Z on a plate. suppose it's too much like a 2

wouldn't the same rule apply for S and 5? Or even 0 and O?! :o

None of it makes any sense to me :tumbleweed:

Worrabout these?

Err, you certainly CAN get Z on a plate - looks for posts by Zermattv on the forum. Final part of his plate is ZZZ (first part of plate hidden) so it can be done.

at £599 from DVLA remember you will get your money back and more when you sell in the future.

Not sure I agree, a few years ago I bought two £399 plates from the DVLA for my daughters cars and later on found plates with no year letter, tried to sell the DVLA plates on but in the end I gave them back to the DVLA :headbang:

Strange you could not get rid the plate i sold was my late fathers cost him £500 1 letter 1 number and initials sold it for £1k mine cost me £500 same style plate and similar plates are double what i paid but its a very strange market place some numbers go for silly money and look almost standard
