Help... Electrical problems :(

My car didnt start first time for some strange reasons (didnt even try to turn the engine over).. So i turned the key off and on again... The nav popped up and down eventually the car started.

However since then i have a series of problems:

Indicators dont flash on the inside/ with no sound - they work outside.
Airbag light is on
Nav/ radio wont work/ nav screen is down
Parking sensors dont work

I have disconnected the battery hoping that would fix it... But it hasnt :(

I have checked the following fuses too... All fine:
Instrument cluster (12,23,24)
Radio (47,50)
Airbag (13)
Random - 14.

I didnt remove the big fuses at to top as i was too scared

All exterior stuff works, the inside is just dead, but heater and heated seats work  so thats a plus

Any ideas? I was tempted to disconnect my gaptec as i read a post how they screwed with someones odbc....

Worst timing as i need the car this week as my company car is in the office while i am off :headbang:

And seems my meddling has made it worse...

My intravee is set to turn my light on upon opening... Now my lights are permanently on and i cant turn them off :headbang:

I thought that but the ac works... The windows have dropped and they cant be raised either and the wipers dont work.

Removed the window fuses too now and they are all fine... So i'm thinking maybe i need a new battery...

Got my lights off now by disconnecting my battery... But need to work out how to close my windows!

May be worth connecting car up to DIS v57 to do a full diagnostic and clear memory

Cheers buddy i'm going to order a cable now.

I just left the car running on the drive and my dash lights have started to work again! No windows or wipers still though so thinking maybe i do need a new battery, this one being 6 years old now.

Strange how is starts fine though but i did read how a battery on its way out can cause electrical gremlins.

Sounds suspiciously like the battery is on its way out.
Or just call you breakdown people and let them do some routine troubleshooting.

I have a battery charger... I'll hook it up.

Strange that car starts first time.

Will the breakdown people help? Not sure they can do much as the car starts?

Wow thats really kind mate.

I'm in derby, i have recovery coming now to check my battery, not used them in 8+ years, surprised they agreed after i said the car still starts! and then check my gap tech tomorrow, if all else fails i may have to take you up on your offer

I would think battery too. Probably not linked but when my airbag control unit failed (got wet), my indicators fidnt flash on the inside and my airbag light was on. I don't have nav or parking sensors. Good luck and let us know what it was when you have fixed it!

Well recovery man came and gone... Checked all the fuses all fine, battery is fine too, he plugged his primitive tool in and had no error codes :(

But said it must be some module... So maybe it is the airbag one as that light is still on.

I'll remove the gaptech tomorrow and take it from there.

I can pop over tomorrow night and check with software and clear airbag light if needed.

Thanks for the offer mate... I'll disconnect my gaptec first to rule that out.

I'll let you know if that has much success... The car is now cover up to stop water getting in through the window!

try unplugging your intravee as this might be the problem

Intravee controls lights, Parking sensors and head unit !!!

Ahh good idea!

I'll get that unplugged too, bit wet at the moment to look at it, and as it covered up i left it, and got a bus into town for my xmas shopping... £5.50 return, cant believe how expensive it is!!

Ok fuses out for both (to save time disconnecting them) and battery reset no luck.

Speaking to my indy today (who i have used for years - hugh brothers) they recon a control module, possibly the airbag as oli had as that light is on.

They are booked till the end of the year but said if i leave it with them they can see if they get time this week, so will take it down tomorrow as its meant to be dry (so i dont need my wipers )

Thanks for the very kind offer though mac
