Help! Drivers door won't open!

I have a 2003 E85, over the last week or so my drivers door has only been opening intermittently however I came to it a few days ago and although the pin is coming up showing the door is unlocked it will not open from the outside or the inside!

Has anyone got any ideas what this could be? I have read the thread below but I doubt it is the motor as the door appears to actually be unlocking!

Don't know the specifics of E85/E86 locking but typically you have a central actuator connected by rods to the latch and pins separately. These rods tend to be secured by plastic retaining clips to the things they connect and these can pop off or wear out and snap over time, so you'll either get the pin not popping or the latch not locking. Caused a different set of issues in the old days when you needed to pull up on the pin to unlock the door before all the electronics took over and [edited by CensorBot v2.10]. Worth dropping the door card off and getting the old iphone camera in the gap with the flash on and seeing if you can see anything.
