Help!!! Anyone with a Z4MC & 5 mins to spare...

Unfortunately that ray of hope has just been extinguished! I called Leicester - they told me that the Roadster switch is also now discontinued! At this rate I'll end up getting a Porsche!

GillyD, I don't have an MC, but you'll be fine without the button for forward facing - my son was still in a booster seat when I got my first Z (the cup holders on his seat were really handy :D )

See this thread : http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=34307&hilit=Airbag

I agree, my 7 year old twins have been out many times, just put the seat right back.
me too, just not with your 7 year old twins.

Hi gilly, mine has got the switch you are talking about, I didn't realise that they weren't standard .yes you do need one to put your child in safely .

Define child or small adult?? I am perfectly happy with my 3 year old on a booster with seat at furthest and higest setting after all there are no instructions for seat position in relation to height if an adult sits there.

Whether or not you are happy to put a child in the front seat without turning off the airbags depends on many things. I wouldn't as the car will be a daily driver and so 7 year old son will be in it every day. I might have however if it were only occasionally. My first call was to the Milton Keynes Safety Centre - they are REALLY good on this stuff. They told me that it depends on individual manufacturers and what they recommend. BMW says you must deactivate and given that booster seats boost a child forward as well as upward, I would, personally, not take the chance on a daily basis. I may be over cautious but I'm a worrier and I drive on twisty back roads where everyone seems to drive like they stole it. It's a personal thing, but husband and I decided that it was safety first for us.

Does it have to be a Z4MC? The Alpina roadsters have isofix and the airbag deactivation as standard...
