Help! - Another kitchen question - countertops this time

We're getting a new kitchen and want a quartz counter top. We have just paid the kitchen company but having a last minute haggle about the cost of recessing the drain grooves (but that's by the by).

While I was looking for example prices I found a couple of threads talking about staining on Caesarstone (I thought all Quartz didn't stain!)

I picked this one just because of the look, but now wondering if all quartz is created (roughly) and if not whether there are better alternative manufacturers. It's a bit late in the day to be changing things... I had thought we had everything nailed (hence we've paid), it was just the niggle about the recess of the sink area that made me look online.

I know lots of you have impressive houses and kitchens so I was wondering if anyone has Caesarstone? This is pretty much the colour we are going for:

Thanks, always good to see photos. What I am particularly interested in (worried about?) is how they stand up to red wine/coffee stains and whether they clean up well.

Cheers

I have this. A black quartz. It doesn't stain and it really does join invisibly. My worktops wrap around columns and I wanted a one piece look. Certainly worth a look at least. :)

We have Quartz and yes it can stain, tea is the worst
But as for the finish ours is like a baby's bum, I think the make is Sillstone.
Hope this helps

Thanks... I was looking at Silestone as well, not good to hear it also stains... can you get the stains off at all or are yours permanently marked?

You have to 'wax' quartz work tops with something called Eagle polish (also used for polishing birds of prey). This helps to seal them, but is a pita, plus it then shows fingerprints.

mine seems not to stain. :|

Ours is white and it's very hard to see the stain, you have to have the sunshine on it and your head
Almost touching the worktop to see it so don't panic,
You just got to clean up after you do anything.

We've got Silestone in a white background with some darker flecks in it (sorry - can't remember the colour). We've had it for 18 months and no issues with staining at all so far.
