So, just finished replaced the rocker cover gasket, and both oil filter gaskets, drained out the old oil and replaced with new. (6.5L)

just started the car for the first time and got a horrible squealing sound, was worried it was lack of oil so quickly turned off, checked the new oil filter and plenty oil in there so it's making it that far. don't want to start it again until I get some advice on here! Is there something I need to tell the car after an oil change?

Definitely got the o-ring seal on the bottom of the oil filter cage?
Did you drop any oil on the aux belt?

I tool off the oil return pipe at the back of the engine but that's safely fitted back on.

didn't take off any other hoses just the required electrical connectors

yep put the little o ring on the oil filter, it was a febi filter so came with those bits.
There was a small amount of oil on the aux belt as the oil filter came off but not alot as had a ton of rags down

All I can suggest is, if the oil level is fine and you can see nothing wrong, get someone else to start it up while you have your head under the bonnet to work out where the noise is coming from.

I've whipped the valve cover off again to check oil was getting in, there was a signs of the new oil getting there but the top cam looked very dry!

Scratching head on this, oil made its way into the rocker cover, you can see the splashes where it lines up with the oil filter but its like it only stayed there and didnt go all around the cam
