Help! 4 Buckled Wheels

I am in my hour of need.

Car is in the garage because it is jumpy on the motorway/generally.

Turns out the wheels are buckled (ALL 4) and unsure whether will pass MOT (will find out tomorrow).

Being told £1900 for 4 alloys etc, anyone know if there is a way around this or a cheaper option? Want to cry...

£1,900 is for new wheels, you'll get them a lot cheaper than that £200 - £300 depending on condition. If it was just the one I'd suggest getting down to Lepsons and getting them sorted, but for some reason I wouldn't will all 4.

Not sure about the wheels - know the tyres, suspension and wheel bearings, not sure about the wheels.

Just get them sorted ASAP and if possible don't use the car if you can help it.

Wow thats bad how did all 4 get bukled would that just happen? Hope you get it sorted at not to mutch cost. :(

thanks for the advice guys.

Spoke to the guy from here http://www.wheelmedic.biz who seemed very knowledgeable and supremely confident that he could fix them for sub £75 a wheel. XRay machine, some sort of press etc.

Would this effect insurance or anything like that?

In all probability they can be straightened out by heating them on a hydraulic lathe. I reckon it should cost about £50 a wheel.

I have seen alloy wheels welded on some pretty hot VWs - mainly because they were classic and otherwise unobtainable, but its a very specialist skill.

personally, given the price of second-user sets, I'd got for a replacement set from the s/h market. For £75 a wheel you'd get an excellent refurb job doing.

1900 :o

sorry but... £306 each for the front wheel (part no: 36116758192), £320 for the rear (part no: 36116758193)... prices from here = £1252...

joe at soper's is undoubtably cheaper though...

see bmautosport.co.uk for 3 series wheels that fit the Z4
I got mine from them and very happy with price and service

My 19" 710's cost less then that!

...which is why he's got buckled wheels I bet :poke:

Thats a very valid point... if the op with 18" 107's managed to buckle them all then 19" will just be asking for trouble!
