Help - 3 pin CD cable stuck!

Hi team,

Trying to install the Bluemusic Bluetooth audio adapter in the boot of my Z4, using the 3 and 6 pin CD-changer connections.

I’ve removed the carpet boot, I’ve located the wires and managed to remove the 6-pin connector. That’s where I ran into problems.

The 3-pin connector (at least I think it is?) is completely stuck. Unlike the 6-pin, I cannot find the release clamps of the pin connector. I’ve tried pushing both sides and pulling, but it’s not coming loose!

Did anyone else have the same problem?

Attaching a picture below. Oh, and as you can see I tried unscrewing the screw just over the cable connector, hoping it would help, but lost the screw in the process. The car is a 2006 Z4 Facelift.

Any help would be appreciated!

Can’t help with your problem, but if you aren’t able to solve it you can buy a similar Bluetooth unit that plus into the back of the head unit instead.

Took a grip plier and finally got it out. Sorted now! :)

Hi Richardz,

I am having the same exact issue with the 3 pin cable. My Zed is bit restricted in space due to battery and i am avoiding taking the boot carpet out completely. I got the 6 pin out quite easily but the 3 pin is a pain in the ass. How much pressure did you apply to get it loose? Which direction are the clamps as well? Your picture is very helpful.

Thanks
