Help: 2006 e86 Side light bulb conundrum

Hi folks,

Side light went the other day with a warning on dash.

I've done a bit of reading on here but my side light situation seems different.

Rather than removing the whole angel eye assembly I went to remove the plug to the bulb and the bulb and smaller inner holder came out (see pic) which I wasnt expecting.

Then I noticed one of the lugs had been filed off on the bulb (also pictured). In the holder you can see the locators at 3 and 9 o'clock but the bulb is more like 4 and 8 o'clock hence the filed lug.

Does anyone know the correct bulb type for this I've pictured the bulb type too which is 434 H6W for reference.

Any insight would be great.

Quick update got the rest of the holder out...some inhumane monster has been at it previously

Yes some ham fisted previous owner has made a right mess of that. BMW want you to replace the complete unit, however it’s possible to file a small grove in the holder to allow a replacement bulb to be fitted. Unfortunately in your case you will need to replace the unit thanks to that PO :headbang:
 
I presume this installation is in xenon headlights? Looks nothing like my sidelights...
