Help!!!!!!!!! 2003 Z4 Post Battery Change Problems

Hi Guys

Just changed the battery on my Z4, easy enough I thought, was even a good boy and used a jump pack so had 12V to car during change.

Now have no:-

Central Locking
Alarm
Reversing sensors
Electric windows
Electric Roof

Is this a trip to dealers to reset the computer.

All help much appreciated.

Dealer mode usually means no air con, but the rest should work. Sure the new battery is connected properly (tightly) and is not duff?

Car starts and runs ok, fans all work ok, as does everything else I think, elec seats, sat nav, lights etc.. wouldn't have thought these would have all worked otherwise......

Battery was a heavy duty Bosch.........

Any other thoughts??????

Take the negative lead of for 10 minutes, that resets everything again.

Sounds odd. I've just replaced mine with a Bosch S4 096 and its fine. The car was even completely dead for about 4 days. Not even central locking or interior lights would work. Replaced the battery on the 5th day and all that's happened is the clock has reset. Are you sure that keeping it supplied with power through the charger hasn't caused some confusion? Try the above but you may need to get it plugged in. Good luck and hope you get it sorted.

Thanks for the replies, will give it a go in the morning and see what happens, nothing to lose I suppose.

I was just worried that if I didn't leave 12v onto the car then the alarm would lose it's memory or something, I know some cars are funny that way!!!!!!

The only things it will lose are the time, trip mileage (and mpg, mph logs) and maybe you will need to program the one touch windows.

There is no cruise control light, something everybody seems to moan about. Don't know why, the speedo not moving without my foot on the gas tells me.

Well guys.....

Tried taking lead off for 10 mins, cleaned terminals, all replaced, checked every fuse with a multi meter... No difference.

Electric Windows
Electric Roof
Interia lights
Electric boot lid opening
Central locking....

Anymore thougths??????

the fusible link thing on the battery? checked that hasn't popped?
