hello everyone. pleased to be here! got a white 08 z4 3.0si a little less than a month ago & loving it!

I did have a question about how to wash the top... any suggestions? I took it to a hand car wash cuz I figured they would know what they were doing... I could be totally wrong!

Also, when the salesman was explaining the features, there was some voice command function. I can't seem to find it in the manual... I'm not sure if it was the emergency help button thing, but he did some voice command that prompted bluetooth or nav or something... Anyone know about this?

Washing the soft top i just give it a good hose down when i wash the car do not use any sort of shampoo on it.

I treated mine a few months back with the AG Hood Kit

Before I wash the car, I take a soft brush to the top to loosen any dirt from the top and then just rince it.

Twice a year I do a soft top treatment to the top.

I do have one thought for you, Never use terrycloth to dry the top. The lint will look really nasty. I use terrycloth to dry the body of the car and use a chamois to keep the waterspots from showing up.
 
maybe i shouldnt be advocating this.. let alone even DOING THIS... but....


every-so-often i take my ride thru a car wash. i rarely do this though and only when i want my top looking CLEAN.

i just get the basic wash. none of that fancy wax/buffing. a simple bit of soap and some of those brisk washers the car wash has is enough to make my top look brand new again.
