Welcome  Its never too early or too late to get a Zed as proven by the range of ages on this great forum!

Good luck with hunt.

BTW - get the roadster!

Any pros / cons on the choice of gearbox, ie auto or manual.

I ask as some auto boxes are a bit of a liability ( my current Audi multitronic ).

Your opinions would be gratefull.

Hi and welcome

What sort of age car will you be looking for , this will help us answer your question .

But generally FSH, best spec and low mileage you can get your hands on with the most powerful engine as iam sure you don't need to worry about the cost of insurance and running costs to much if you are having a midlife crises

Colure is not to much of a problem for resale , alot of the extras can be retro fitted but the most costly parts like the M-sport seats are very desirable.

Hi and welcome,i'm on my second zed had a Bright Red 2.2 roadster manual and loved it but now have a 3.0si Coupe Auto and it is awesome my first auto and i don't regret it.

I reckon that my budget will see me with an 03-04 plate roadster, preferably a 2.5 or 3.0.

Looking through pistonheads and autotrader, there seems to be quite a range for sale between 6.5k and 9k which will be my target market.

Hi again

A fellow member with a very tidy and well looked after 3.0se in silver is selling his car ( easty027) check the for sale section and also the gallery for pics and a photo comp winner too .

Sure looks nice in the pictures, wonder if he has problems with speed bumps being so low, does look the business though.

If its still for sale in a week or so i think i might give him a call.

Cheers Jonnyfive

The pre-facelift auto, which you are looking at, is a ZF 5 speeder and is pretty good, no paddles but you don't really need them. It's a much better box the the Multitronic, which is a CVT and is pretty pants.
