Hello. I'm Neil - owner of a 2004 E85, but with quite a history of BMWs (E24, E28, E30s, E36, K100RSs, K1600GTL - and probably a couple I've forgotten about along the way). Living on the edge of The Fens near Ely. I picked up the Z4 about a year ago after wanting one for ages, and when my venerable MX-5 failed the MOT (rust, on a Mazda, would you believe it?) it was all the excuse I needed. The car is lovely to drive, and so far, easy to work on. First thing was to relocate the roof motor. Next up is to replace the valve cover and gasket (bits on the way for that, so hopefully next weekend) and then I've got to try to sort out the airbag light that came on after driving the car for six hours in a monsoon a couple of weeks back. And that was what led me here, looking for answers on that one!

Welcome to the forum Neil and good luck sorting your airbag light out. :thumbsup:

I believe the sensors often play up if they get damp, so maybe some water got in during the monsoon?

BTW we do like to see photos of new members' cars!
 
Hi Neil. I'm up the road a bit in Attleborough. I've done quite a few airbag fixes, when even the dealers can't do it. (One forum member even flew me to Dublin to sort his out last year!)
If you fancy a run out one day we can at least work out what the problem is for you.
In the meantime, there is an East Anglian Z4 Owners Group on fb if you fancy signing up to that.

That's really cool, thanks! I'd guess you're only 45 mins or so away, so I'll take you up on that offer at some point - thanks! As for FB, sorry, I don't have an account there - I rather suspect I'm just too old for that kind of thing :)
