Hi My names Kenny, im just about to buy a 3.0 roadster 2003 with 79000 on the clock, sat nav, silver. hopefully this week..money permitting.
if i do ill post some photos. Just one little request whats the number one problem thing to check for ? roof ? engine ? electrics ?

i have been a BMW owner before, my 645 ci had a smoky exhaust on idle - it had to go... i also had a 325 ci which was a pig..kept stalling. MAF sensor i think. anyway i hope the Z4 serves me well.

Check and see if any problems with roof drive/motor.
Front suspension wear and tear
Broken rear springs
Other than that just the usual's GLWTP

Hi Ken

Sounds like you had a bit of bother with your previous BMW's, hope this zed is good to you.

I'm no expert but a couple of things that come up on here are the following:-

Roof drains as you've already mentioned, if these block you can wreck the roof motor
Front wishbone bushes (lollipops) very common fault
Stiff steering when it's warm, affects early models

Can't think at the mo of any more but I'm sure other will be along to advise

Hi again, well i bought my Z4 today and im very pleased with my buy. i love the 3.0 engine sound, im happy with the sat nav, im just trying to find out what phone was fitted to the cradle. so i can buy one off ebay. as it was late in the day i didn't have time to take pics, but i will do in the morning
