Have already installed a HID kit and changed the sidelight bulbs as well (once you are used to HID, driving with anything halogen based is like driving by candlelight...)

I am probably going to do an interior swap for black or red leather as well as I hate the champagne leather and its in pretty ratty condition as well.

a couple of bonus pics of my previous car as well which I sold about 8 months ago. I miss the 330 but it had to go as I went backapacking around south east asia for 8 months (epic experience - thoroughly recommended!)

same engine as the Z4 I have but for some reason the Z feels a hell of a lot quicker? probably because my ass is 4 inches off the ground and lighter bodyweight but definitely a more "visceral" feel

Thanks for the pics. Looks nice, but if you think it's ropey, then post some more pics when you have have removed the ropiness! :)

Thanks for the welcome chaps.

Stuart I think you are right, pretty sure itx toledo blue but not certain if i am honest!

irrespective I HATE the champagne colour leather... so I have just bought this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201311842805?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

decided straight off the bat that I am going to do a complete interior swap, so after contacting the seller they agreed to sell me the ENTIRE interior (bar dashboard and steering wheel)

managed to get all the followings:

- seats
- door cards
- carpet
- centre console including ashtray, hand brake cover, gear knob and gear gaitor
- rear bulkhead plastic and plastic pockets
- sill panel plastics
- centre storage unit (upper section behind the centre console)
- all small bits of coloured trim

all included was £565 including the delivery so I think I did pretty good on the price. the advert says the seats will need a valet but they are still in better shape than mine!

the only item they I will be missing will be the kickwell speaker covers and I am sure I can pick them up for a few quid somewhere.

going to have to wait bout 4 or 5 weeks before I can take delivery of it though as I am not yet back in my house (couch surfing a bit and staying with friends and family until I get my place back from tentants on may 1th) once I have my own place back then I have space to work on the conversion and store the old interior.

anyone done a full interior swap out on one of these before? any ideas of what it involves?

yep. although its not actually private. most people dont realise that three letters then four numbers is actually a totally standard DVLA plate.... just not for mainland UK. Its the format they use for any cars first registered in Northern Ireland. Funny thing is my last car was the same, except I was the first person to take the 330 and register it on UK mainland (I flew to Belfast from London to buy that one!)

Hi, yes I have a Northern Ireland plate too - it may not be classed as a 'private plate' however it is dateless: CCZ 450
I'm waiting for the paper work to go through before I can display it :)

You don't hang around Faz! Nice work and nice Z4. Looks like a good one to bring back to former glory.

Love the colour of it as well and with the new interior I am sure it will freshen it up no end!

no hanging around at all. I have a habit of getting cars to where I want them very quickly then simply stopping mods and enjoying them for the remainder of the time I own them.

Also ordered this yesterday:

needed bluetooth and most of my music is digital so the USB input in glovebox will come in handy. friend of mine runs an audio shop so managed to get the unit, the facsia adapter, wiring loom and OEM bmw steering interface for £260 all in including the installation which is a bit of a touch really. (effectively trade price and he is making only £30 on the fit)

next step is to figure out how to get a decent sound in the cabin. current thoughts are to have a Morel or Dynaudio 3 way system in the Stock locations, lose the speakers behind the seats altogether, a single 8 or 10 inch flat sub installed in the cab between the seats in a custom enclosure replacing the bit where the storage unit behind the centre console is and run the whole lot off a 3 or 4 channel amplifier. That may take a little while longer to get to but I'm sure I will get to it. stock audio in these things are pants really!
