Hello...possibly looking to find the right Z4MR

Hey all, great forum you have here :)

So, my M2 was demoted to my weekend fun car in June with the arrival of my new daily. As a daily the M2 is awesome, but its a digital M car that tries to be analogue and its not cutting the mustard as the weekend car. Depreciation is not helping either, even now it has very limited milleage!

So I want to go back to M basics (manual, hydraulic steering, NA engine) and I think the Z4M roadster will be the sweet spot between fun and depreciation free enjoyment. Yes, I also want that warm feeling that even when I am not using it, its not pisshing cash all over the drive :D

I have read the 'what to look for' threads, so very useful. What may be usual as a sticky is a schedule example, maybe every 10k miles of things what should be replaced - like engine mounts / springs etc?

So just saying hi, and keen to hear any feedback for a possible new owner and if you know of any cherished Z4MR's up for sale. Will also post a wanted in the for sale section as well

Certainly a plum time to buy , unusually rich pickings to suit all budgets

You'll open a can of worms re schedule of work. Tbh follow the service schedule and the rest is opinion.

In saying that even the service schedule gets argued over

Ooo thanks, had seeng the blue one but 90k miles and self servicing put me off.

The Silver one is lovely, especially as it has been on here with two previous owners. It would be perfect if it had the red interior. But I also assume I need to accept I may have to compromise, or wait a looooong time.

That Ph black one is new, and yeah quite a safe, Bet with bmw warranty. Black and black bores me as colour combo though. Maybe I need to think about finding a way to get red seats in somehow :D

And thoughts on this one? http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=99997&p=1464008#p1464008

You've got more chance of wrestling the throne from the Queen than getting your hands on Steve's car

Good luck with your search

Everything is for sale for the right price! Actually, I wonder what number people would accept to sell their car...???

OP, I've been hearing the M2 has started to hit the rocks on depreciation...what's the trade in looking like now on early cars?

Totally agree..... id sell mine if the right offer came along now, no doubt.... but theirs probably very few people that would be willing to pay what i want, hence why i t think it will be always with me.

I'd sell mine if someone offered me reasonable money for it.
Had it 4 years now, and its the longest I've owned any car.

I think about selling mine as sometimes I don't drive it for 2-3 weeks.... but then I drive it like today and hell no :driving: :D

Yeah I know what your saying, but if I sold it I'd replace it with a TVR or an SEight, so I'd not be without a toy!

Next month owned it 6 years. If I sold I'd replace it with another, would have to be imola red though.

Problem is, I'd probably take all the nice bits off this one before letting it go.

Well you say??
Haha it would have to be a damned good offer
As pastry said
2 weeks I haven't driven until today
The drive the noise the park up and stare
Love them

D4dawg, your car is phenomenal, a 10 year old car that's better than new...I'd be very surprised if BMW wouldn't buy that to stick in a museum somewhere....#kudos

It's dusty enough to belong in a museum

Hi and welcome aboard, you're looking at the right car imo, I swap between my ///MR and another weekend car I have every 3 months or so and having recently got back in the M it's like I've only just bought it, it's gorgeous and the smile factor is off the scale! Best of luck with your search 8)

TMP. What is wrong with this one then?

Thanks buddy
Ironically never was a bmw fan, had a 328ci when first came out and that's it

But this thing, so many buttons are pressed and boxes ticked by these cars
Hence put a whole heap of love into it:)
