Hello there - first post after lurking for several weeks doing intensive research on M Coupes. Lots of useful info, enthusiasm and great pics on this forum. :)

Pleased (ok, thrilled) to say that I put a deposit down on the third car I viewed with Mrs S, a 57 plate 21000 mile Sapphire Black car with Imola red interior, navigation/Bluetooth, heated seats, power mirrors, PDC etc. It's also had a Schnitzer exhaust and strut brace from new. It sounds amazing and the test drive was memorable :D The dealer had also prepared it beautifully and it's in fantastic condition, which was the deal breaker (as well as the noise). We collect it on Wednesday next week...

Just a question on servicing - it had the running in service done at the right time, and one other service since then. I'm told the Z4 M 's must be serviced every two years, or less, depending on mileage and style of driving and when the car decides it needs one. My car is saying it is due in 3000 miles, which will probably coincide with the 4 year point. The specialist dealer selling the car contacted his local BMW dealer who said the four year service was a big one with valve clearances needing adjusting. I thought this was Inspection 2 and wouldn't need doing for quite a whole yet, and that the next service due would be Inspection 1?

I hope this makes sense, can anyone clarify please? Thank you - can't wait to collect!

Insp1 is due with brake fluid if four years old. Coolant is lifetime.

Very little difference between insp 1 and 2. Expect 1 to cost around £600+ and 2 to be £800+, dealers will compete and at four years old cheaper labour rates kick in. You can also supply your own castrol edge oil from opie oils and save £80ish against BMW costs for oil. 2 x 4 litre cans with leave you around 1.5 for top ups, not that mine has ever needed it.

Any garage that doesn't ask for car from cold, ie. night before is cutting corners for both 1 and 2 services.

From reset it is either serviced by indicator on dash or at latest every two years with oil and brake fluid. Do not reset dash unless time coincides with mileage countdown.

Thanks all for the friendly welcome and useful info about servicing. I'll get some pictures taken and posted next week after we collect her :)

Welcome to the club sutts! Looking forward to seeing more when you have pics. Sounds like a good one!

Had the car just over a week now and loving it. The power, the noise, the handling, the looks....amazing.

Insurance turned out to be less than my remapped Octavia vRS at about £400, worst fuel ecomomy so far 21 mpg and best 30.7 mpg so as I expected. The ACS exhaust is just right - looks a bit a bit different and sounds great with a deep burble at low revs and a roar further up the range. Never drones or boomy at all. A few post-wash pictures below, not the best quality as it was a murky day. Oh yes, BMW stubby aerial on order :) .
