Hi folks,
Long time lurker in this forum and recently moved to Europe from my home country Virginia, USA. Wife insisted on bringing the zed over, with less then 17K miles, I agreed. I dealt with EU and French import regulations. I did all of the paper work and technical mods, but still have few mods that I need to complete on permanent basis. Paris is known for city of love, locals refer to it as city of strikes - I finally got my tags after 9 months !!!
My plan is to do the following this month.
1) Enable rear fog lights - this is done
2) Get rid of the run-flats - done - put on Michelen pilot sport
3) Change the front corner parking lights to white from orange - I coded it out to pass customs technical control (they have to be off
or white) Finding the location to replace them took me long time - no you don't need to take the bumper off.
4) Paint rear bumper sidemarker light lenses black and code out the light bulb (only US spec cars have this)
5) Retro-fit power folding mirrors and code per his/her key - not required but it's a must have where I live now. Getting in/out of the
building garage is like doing night traps on a carrier !
6) Address the infamous sticky steering
7) Test the DSC wheel sensors and/or the module - yup orange brake/DSC light in the dash
The picture is where I picked up my car from customs in Le Havre. 2005 E85 3.0i 6sp manual....Looking forward to meeting my European side friends.
