Hi folks,

Long time lurker in this forum and recently moved to Europe from my home country Virginia, USA. Wife insisted on bringing the zed over, with less then 17K miles, I agreed. I dealt with EU and French import regulations. I did all of the paper work and technical mods, but still have few mods that I need to complete on permanent basis. Paris is known for city of love, locals refer to it as city of strikes - I finally got my tags after 9 months !!!

My plan is to do the following this month.
1) Enable rear fog lights - this is done
2) Get rid of the run-flats - done - put on Michelen pilot sport
3) Change the front corner parking lights to white from orange - I coded it out to pass customs technical control (they have to be off
or white) Finding the location to replace them took me long time - no you don't need to take the bumper off.
4) Paint rear bumper sidemarker light lenses black and code out the light bulb (only US spec cars have this)
5) Retro-fit power folding mirrors and code per his/her key - not required but it's a must have where I live now. Getting in/out of the
building garage is like doing night traps on a carrier !
6) Address the infamous sticky steering
7) Test the DSC wheel sensors and/or the module - yup orange brake/DSC light in the dash

The picture is where I picked up my car from customs in Le Havre. 2005 E85 3.0i 6sp manual....Looking forward to meeting my European side friends.

Welcome to the forum, lovely looking, low mileage Zed
There is a meet up at https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/ this Saturday, short notice but should be epicif you fancy a trip across the channel.

Hi 'Angry' and welcome to mainland Europe from here in sunny Greece! Lovely car indeed and steering wheel on the right side! Hope life goes well in la belle France!

Welcome cuz to our side of the pond.

Like to suggest a couple of free mods
- de ‘French fry’ your rear lights, as that black strip is only pushed on for a cleaner single light unit look
- the rear lights come on in two phases depending how hard you slap the anchors, though connecting two wires will make the whole brake circle illuminate

I often work in Tours & sometimes Paris, so u never know

Happy hooning though watch those French rozzers, they take no prisoners with heavy speeders

Thanks "firebobby" , would love to attend but I'm headed to Germany to work on the pending zed list where I have access to space and proper tools. I will definitely attend next time for sure, thanks again mate.

Welcome to the forum. Sound as if you have your bases covered. Hope you're enjoying this typical European summer weather.

--Thanks Metal Licker, buzyg, RustyZ4

--Beemer233 - too funny - "Welcome"Angry" - The name "AngryZed" was giving to me because I like doing track days with my bike and the zed was originally planned to be highly modified for the track.....Thanks for the laughter, was at Lesvos last year, lovely island.

--Jembo - thanks for the tips, it looks great on your pic. I'm learning the rozzers really fast, I agree, they are pulling vacation travelers over and weighing the vehicles and towing if you exceed max vehicle weight.....This is very new to me.

Thank you all for your kind welcome comments....

Hey BeeEmm - Military lingo - Night Ops (night operations) _ flyers call it night traps - landing and taking off at night on a carrier. I'm very excited to watch the game tonight - What a game the finals would be if England/France play - just saying.

My boss is Belgium, the Co I work for is French, one way or the other there’s going to be some low ball banter...

Welcome to the forum

Paris .... eek !

Parking my car there would terrify me :o

Perfect location to set off for some great drives .. welcome to this side of the pond

Out of interest why did you not buy one over this side rather than bring yours over ?

I think I saw it had 16k on the clock... better the Devil you know

Earthdweller, good question, Jembo described it perfectly. It is an garage kept Zed, and it cost me 3k to ship it over. What you described as parking nightmare is the reason I'm doing my auto folding mirror retro fit/mod as I write this.
