Hello, just returned my second Z4... 3rd arrives next week

Hi guys... thought I'd say hi, been lurking around for a couple of weeks now... Used to post on Z4UM when I had my first Z4, a Black 2.5i SE manual. Left when I traded it for a Mini Cooper S, and now I'm back as I traded the Mini for a Silver 3.0i SE with the auto box on Friday...

I was tempted to go for black again but had very bad memories of paint that marked far to easily, so this time went for Silver. The car is a couple of years old, and amaxingly no marks on the body and the interior is hardly warn at all, so I'm smiling a lot this weekend...





This is the one I had before... the steering on this was a nightmare, so I was really unsure of getting another - but the 3.0i handles like a dream, you can actualy let go of the wheel and it doesn't try to go the other way... and its on runflats...!

thanks guys... done around 500 miles so far - keep catching myself smiling... Got a few things to go back to the dealer with but they have promised me that they will be fixed next week so fingers crossed my smile will be bigger very soon...

The black Z was very shiney, not sure I can get the same shine on the silver but I'll give it a try...

Do you notice a big difference between the 2.5 and the 3.0?

The 2.5 was a 5 speed manual, the 3.0 is automatic (I do lots of miles!) so hard to tell plus its almost year since I drove the 2.5... however its [really] fast of the mark, great torque for overtaking and on the motorway, and suprisingly the main improvement is fuel, I'm getting close to 32mpg so far and I am pushing it...

Still very happy with my recent purchase...

Thought I'd post an update... the silver Z4 turned out to be a major dissapointment, tonnes of problems, many minor but a couple the dealer said that they couldn't fix... one being the bluetooth phone kit not working (they blamed my phone despite trying several phones) and the other was a throttle assembly problem...

After they had my car for almost three weeks I expalined my dissapointment :headbang: and that in my opinion the car should not have been sold to me in the condition it was - even items such as the windscreen wipers didn't work properly... :thumbsdown:

So... they agreed (after 7 weeks) to replace the car at no additional cost to myself...

On Tuesday I pick up a Sapphire Black 3.0 auto with Dream Red leather, sat nav, TV, Bluetooth, 6 CD, 108 alloys and a few other bits and bobs... It's a year younger and with only half the mileage...

I can't believe they agreed to exchange the car, and now I'm very much looking forward to picking up my 3rd Z4... and complete kudos to the dealer as this is usually unheard of...

Man you need to post that dealers name in the dealer section. That is a wonderful thing to hear. Because in my opinion that is one of the reasons I bought a BMW. I expect that level of customer service. Not the, leave it we will try to get to it next week, oh and we don't have loaner cars, bye, crap I got from Century in Greenville SC.

Yeah, I totally agree... I want this forum to be a sounding post, waving the warning flags about the crappy dealerships... on the other hand we need to do our bit for the dealerships out there who go that extra mile... that way maybe some of the crap ones will up their game (but then again maybe not!)

That's a shame, especially as silver is the fastest colour too, but it sounds like you have a great spec on your latest Z4. The TV sounds awesome, even though you'll probably hardly ever use it, pretty rare option isn't it.

Well....silver may SOUND faster but we all know black is the fastest.

Got the car on Tuesday... its fab, not a rattle or anything else I can find (phew!) - its Sapphire Black, dream red M heated seats, sat nav, TV, bluetooth, 6 CD, auto box and 108 composite alloys... since I got it I fitted rear lights with clear indicators, clear fog light with red bulb (may not be MOT but it works!) and clear side indicators... looks fab - and its soooo shiny!

The dealer is Wiliams in Rochdale, and they have been great about all of this - I suppose I am their nightmare customer but it had to be right and now it is...

Been out today 'over the hills and far away' and snapped a few pics...
