Hello from the York area!

Ok, a bit off topic but I just had to share a photo of my little baby who will NOT be sitting on the leather seats!

Hahahahahahahahaha very sweet!!

Get some good cleaning products this weekend...no chamois leathers or Halfords wax.....

Get a good lambswool washing mitt, a drying towel, some polish and a good wax. Sme rapid detailer for mid washes to keep it looking clean. Maybe feel the paint with your hand and see if it feels smooth like glass, if not, clay the car (a kind of putty which you rub over the car with a rapid detailer solution to take off all the crap that is stuck onto the paint) nothing beats the feeling of a beautifully taken care of car!!

Thanks for the tips Nick! I'm a bit weary of trying the clay bar as I read you can scratch the paint if you don't know what you're doing. The only place I know of to buy this sort of stuff is Halfords, unless I order online.

Hi all,

Another Newbie from York here, just took delivery of ours yesterday!

Absolutely ecstatic with it apart from a temperamental CD changer and electric mirrors that the dealer is going to take a look at. Looking at getting an AUX put in anyway.

Looking forward to getting involved in the Forum, looks like there's a wealth of info!!

Cassie, claying is relatively easy...just look on you tube. Megs have some video stuff on the topic.....

If you guys were closer, I'd love to do it!! I get a kick out of cleaning cars!!

Hmmmm road trip to London in the future me thinks :D

Sorry excuse my crap iPad spelling...flaying haha

I washed the car yesterday in the bitter cold, and still you'll see me with my hand out of the car window feeling the smoothness of my paint!! Haha

Hi Ritchie, welcome to the Forum  - you would be better to start a new 'NEWBIE' thread with some details of your Zed and photographs.

London... Kent... Hmmm. You should see the state of mine - you'd be down here in a shot.

Just a quick update. I've had my Z for three days now and, despite the flashing roof light problem, I've never been happier! I still can't believe how nice it drives, and how FAST it is! I've never ownded anything this nice :) I picked it up on Saturday morning and shortly thereafter drove it to the East coast! I drove it to work for the first time this morning and had a smile on my face both ways. The first thing I did after firing that roaring engine up after work was drop the top and crank on some tunes. lol. My William Orbit CD has never sounded better :D

Just wanted to share my excitement yet again! I nipped to Halfords the day I bought it and got some Autoglym wash - can't wait to give her / him a bath this weekend. Hmmmmmm, I've normally referred to my cars as she's, but this black metallic Z with black leather, etc just feels more like a 'him'. lol.

Hi Cassie welcome to the forum. You can buy Maguires cleaning products in Boyes of all places (not cheap though!) - hope to see you on a run sometime!

Hello! If you're a fraud then so am I!

Waiting for mine to be born! Got an email from the dealer saying its on track for week beginning 5th march. Wool hoooo!

:driving:

Lucky you Carol!! Weeks now...not long!!! Never cleaned an orange car before....I'll read up on some good products!!

Hahahahahahahahaha, sorry my first thought is orange, crazy I know. It's yellow, yes it is.....sorry

What wheels are you getting Carol? 326 M Sports? I have wax coated my wheels which makes them really easy to clean. And if you have a few hundred to spare (maybe £250) I would get a detailer to the garage before they get a chance to prep it. You'd be surprised how many brand new cars leave with swirls on it just by the dealer prep.....
