Hello from the North East - modifications thread

Welcome to Z4 ownership and the forum, great looking car, roof motor looks in great nick. Enjoy the good weather ahead.

Cheers!

First impressions of the car are great but I’m going to do the CDV delete as think the gear changes could do with improving - don’t think it’s me

And I’m going to look into options on softening ride a little - maybe look at replacing the shocks, as at 88k miles they will be past their best??

Nice one mate. Your roof motor was in better shape than mine was when Durham Dave pulled it out of its dirty bath

Just a an update -

Completed my first 1k miles in the car.

Done a few of the basic / common mods so far -

Spacers 15F / 20R
Black gloss Kidney grills
CDV delete
ZHP Gearknob
Sound generator foam removal (1 piece)
Under seat first aid boxes
Aftermarket TPMS
Pressed metal plates
Roof motor relocate

Got beat by the Whippy removal - so still no stubby

A few pics....

Thanks! :D

I’m trying - but with working abroad a month at a time and the great English weather when I’m home, my opportunities are limited :(

Just fitted Eibach pro kit and Blistein B4’s with Meyle HD front mounts, Febi Blistein rear mounts (as I’d read Meyle HD rears can have a knocking sound).

Got some good weather this week so will get some miles on it - then get it Hunter alligned :driving:

Further update -
I had Hunter alignment done to standard Z4 settings. This highlighted that my nearside RTAB was shot.

So I replaced the RTAB, Lollipops, front and rear drop links with Meyle/Lemforder ones.

Then took it to Track Torque near York for alignment to Z4 M settings after lots of research and advice on here!

Car seems a lot better on the road but not had a real chance to test it. Hopefully will get some decent weather this month before I SORN it for the winter.

Just read this post again. I’ll go back to sleep. :headbang:

It’s ok mate, I’ve just altered the thread title (save making a fresh thread with my (minor) mods).

Thanks for the welcome
