Hello from sunny Scotland

I've owned my Z4 Coupé for just 6 days. Loving it so far. I just found this forum so I'll be doing some research for information.

I do most of my own maintenance and as my car has little BMW history I won't harm the value!

Very nice..don’t see many coupes in that colour…enjoy

Thank you for the welcome. This it clearly a very active forum 👍

I've wanted a coupé for a fair few years but when this one popped up (drunk market place perusal...) I had to have it as it was the exact spec I wanted and better still very cheap!

It's done 143k miles but it feels fit so it's obviously been looked after.

Welcome Tasmin, keep all the receipts for any work and write it all up. You can download these checklists and go through them. Check the rear underneath carefully for rust this summer when you get the chance. https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/z4-e46-service-maintenance-checklist-2006.171200/

I alway keep receipts and a log of everything I do to my cars. I like having a record just to keep myself straight!

Thanks for the link, very handy. I've had a good look underneath already but are there specific areas that rust?

If you're wondering about my username it's my other car. It's not been on the road for a long time but this year should be the year.

As you can see I'm quite settled on odd 2 seater coupés!

Lovely looking car..quite a lot of cross over between TVR and Zed fans…very reminiscent of the Lancia Beta Monte Carlo..

Whereabouts in Scotland do you hail from?

The brake pipes can rust and you can get a bit of surface corrosion and the rear subframe. A few pictures here. https://zroadster.org/threads/2006-e85-z4-m-roadster-rear-sub-frame-rebuild.48939/

Brake pipes and subframes don't worry me!

Thanks. I'm down in the Borders near Kelso.
