Hi there. I'm new to the forum, but have been looking in quite a bit as "anonymous" over the past few months as I've been considering a Z4. So after doing my homework, today I picked up my 2007 2.5i Z4 Sport. Here it is.

Lovely isn't it? I had to have a six and the 2.5 is quite fast enough for me thankyouverymuch. So, I picked it up this afternoon - I've owned it for about 8 hours so far! Fantastic driving experience and I can't wait to get the hood down. Couldn't do that today - motorway journey home and bloody freezing. I'll wrap up warm and go for an open top blast next weekend.

Looking forward to chatting with you guys, you seem a friendly bunch, and here's to happy open top miles!
Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum Shandy. Nice looking zed you have bought, and a good first post which includes a photo, well done

Hope you enjoy your zed :driving:

Welcome to the forum, great looking Zed you've got yourself there. The driving experience gets even better when the top comes down. Here's hoping for some dry weather for you next weekend :driving:

I'm from Doncaster originally . . .born and bred.
Welcome to the Forum
Get a range of different hats, scarf and gloves, the heater on full and get that roof down - you'll love it!

Are you two following me? :) Yes, well spotted. Another Zed in Sheffield.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I'd like to get along to any shows or meets this year - I'll be checking out the forum for news of events.

Cheers

There's a meet up at the turnpike just off m62 every so often
One normally in Derbyshire some but can't remember where
An the Shepshed meet is probably the biggest an only a hour away

Been out for a blat today. Temperature was around 3 degrees but I had the roof down, heater turned up and heated seat on and it was lovely. Grinning like a loon on the back roads round here. Only thing was, there's no wind deflectors on my car, not even the ones in the roll hoops, and it was a bit buffeting. Do the deflectors really make much of a difference?

Yes they do, but the original OEM ones are expensive. This thread says it all:

Thanks for that Marlon. That thread shows that everyone seems to think that they are definitely worth having and that OEM is the way to go. Not exactly cheap though! I'm in no rush and will just keep my eyes peeled. I've found a breakers yard that is just round the corner from my work. They seem to have a few mangled Zeds go through their doors - I think I'll keep pestering them until some come up at the right price.
Cheers

Welcome along Shandy.

I'm Retford but originally Doncaster. Lovely motor by the way.

I have the Perspex wind deflector that secures to the hoops with Velcro straps. Cheap at £60 but not the most flattering on the eye, hopefully it'll reduce the buffeting a bit.

I just didn't have £130+ at the time for the mesh style OEM one which look the best imo.

You've joined a great forum with loads of advice and friendly banter along the way.
