Now then,

Thought i should say hello, ive been lurking since i decided i wanted a Zed (Nov/Dec). Managed to snaffle one 3 weeks ago, a 2.2 Maldives Blue, with 16" alloys and cloth interior, not bad since i wanted a 2.5 in Gray with minimum 17" alloys and leather.....but i got myself a deal which i couldn't so no to. And with the money i saved i can add the missing bits i want ie wheels and leather...

So far ive upgraded alloys, chrome exhaust pipes, clear indicators and rear brake light.

Well i know you guys like pics, so this was taken after getting some 18" MV3's - will be losing the runflats for falkens, when rears wear out.

My next major upgrade will be a custom leather install, was toying with the idea of 2 tone cream and leather, but have decided that black (bolsters) and blue (seat) is the way forward. Would be interested in hearing your comments on colour combo....

Thanks

Nice choice of wheels there. Would be cool to see them in the skin!

There is a good seat specialist just over York way, they do OEM covers if I remember correctly, so can re-make panels in new leathers/textures/colours too. Probably quite expensive though.

Anyway, good luck with the car, might see you around. A unique combo like that and I'll know it is you :)

PS, I'm in Leeds, and have a full electric adjustable/heated leather interior that I may be selling soon (stored for now till I decide what to do with them), so if you think you might want some (welcome to have a look etc), then give me a shout. Might be easier to get spares modded, then move them over, or whatever.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

Attached is a pic of the leather combo im after.

Picture is taken from a Z3, that had a custom job done. I really like the colour combo and detail of blue stiching, plus its something ive not seen in any other Z4.

Thinking of getting it done at a place called SG Interiors based in Leeds, a mate of mine had his beetle cab done, and they did a great job. But i am open to other recommendations.

What i do find weird, is that everything is standard on my car apart from electric adjustment seats, now correct me if im wrong but aren't manual adjustment seats standard on the 2.2? So it looks like it was added as an option, and to be fair electric adjustment would be at the bottom of my options list.

Mr Whippy - thx for the offer of your seats let me know if/when you do decide to sell, as i may be interested due to them being heated.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum.

The blue and black seats would be a good choice

hi, sounds like some nice upgrades, and the wheels are looking good  . i just got my Z4 a week ago, 53 2.5se, im really happy with it but i need a rear central brake light. i dont know if im being stupid but i cant seem to find where to get them from. they seem to be cracked on every z4 iv seen, is this a common problem?

where did you get yours from? and for how much?

cheers

Hi Rudd

The cracked 3rd brake light does seem to be a common problem on Z4's, mine too was cracked hence the reason for upgrading.

I got a replacement form the dealership, wasn't cheap though, at around £50. I went for the clear one which was cheaper than the std red. The new one came with a rubber seal around the edge which should help absorb the vibration from closing the boot. If you do decide on getting one i recommend getting the clear side indicators to match, they are cheap (£11 ea) and an easy fit.

Cheers

PS nice looking ride you've got!

ok, cheers for the advice. il keep checking on ebay and around the net but if i cant find one il take a trip to the dealers. the clear indicators sounds like a good tip aswell.

cheers mate!
