Hello from Bristol. I've been lurking for a while.

Good to find this intro post again. I've finally managed to read it all. So when are you buying your 500. :driving:

That's something I'd like to do when I give up work, it would be rewarding to build one from the ground up & get it on the road-I took one out for a test drive when I had my Elise (only a roadsport) & the windscreen wiper fell off while I was out :D
Made me chuckle a bit especially when the salesman said "that doesn't normally happen" I could tell it was a lotus immediately

I'm hoping that my Yellows hold up well, and it wasn't just the rain keeping them cool at Combe. :erm: Something I forgot to say was that now they are properly bedded in they do require quite a bit more pressure on the pedal from cold.

How have the yellows held up? Im curious as I look to have had the exact same brake set-up as you with new Pagid discs and yellow stuff all round.

Mine were fitted for three weeks and covered two track days (Spa & Mettet) and had signs of crumbling on the pads with scored discs. Also the brakes were very hot after 15 mins sessions and took ages to cool down (significantly hotter than other cars with that had also done 15 min sessions with just fast road pads). But saying that, the pads were effective at slowing the car down with no brake fade.

Philipw, use Bluestuff next time and that should solve the problem without compromising road or track performance.

Terrific write up, nice to see you're not shy about 'fessing up to some mistakes made along the way, and you're certainly a lot braver than me for tackling any job you think needs doing (or getting a garage to do what you can't). Great stuff
