Hi all,

I'm new to the forum today.
I have been thinking about getting an S2000 or a Z4 roadster for some time now as a weekend play thing but after the last few weeks of proper looking at what's about I think the Z4 roadster the way to go for me(more car for your).
I have got 6 cars on my hit list and plan on looking at some of them this weekend.
I'm after 2004 or newer not to fussed about mileage but has to be a manual 3.0i se
Let's see what this weekend brings up fingers crossed.

Hi and welcome.

One small piece of advice: when you type "Z4" get onto the habit of typing "Roadster" after it. This will save you from a lot of disappointment in the future, especially in the summer when roof off is the way to go. :driving:

Good luck!

Hiya MrG,

Sounds like you know what you're looking for - if you can stretch to a face-lift 2006 onwards you'll get clear headlights and up-dated rears and the 3.0si gives 265bhp whereas the 3.0i gives 231bhp (not a great deal of difference on the road - driver more important). Some owners swear by the earlier engine though the newer model is lighter having a magnesium crankcase. The 3.0si sport version comes with sport leather seats and ///M lightweight wheels and steering wheel and has larger brakes. The SE has a different spec, wider seats and slightly softer ride through suspension. Many of the pre 2006 SE versions will have up-rated their seats and wheels. Lots of 3.0i coming on the market and a well cared for and cherished example with a good service record is the way to go though you may be find a facelift version if you're patient - still commanding high prices - it took me about 8 months to find mine at the right price.

Good luck with your search and welcome to the forum.

:driving:

Good luck with your search! I looked long & hard, weighed pros & cons. I happily decided on the 2006 Z4. My weekend car is becoming my daily car!

Thank you all for your help and kind words.
I want to keep it to 7.5k max but preferred closer to 6 so I think a facelift 06 is just out my price.
I have lined up 3 cars to look at this weekend two grey and a silver all have about 70k on the clock with full service history I will get them hpi first of course and see how we go from there :driving: :driving:

Welcome Mr G.

Sounds like you have all the info and know what you want!

Good luck with the search. Let us know how you get on after the weekends Z4 hunting....

Mm didn't go as planed this weekend :(

The car was in very good condition was an 03 not 04 as the add said :headbang:

I felt the car was a little over priced with some small bits to look at had some foam in the oil filler cap but I think it was from just standing didn't think it was a head problem. Anyways the dealer would only come down £95 from his asking price so we left it at that. So it was a wasted 4hr round trip and the hunt Is still on :D
