I am the brand new and very proud owner of a blue 2004 Z4 Roadster with 22000 miles and looking as if it just came out of the showroom. I got it yesterday and drove it home from Perth up the A9, fairly gently, as this is my first experience of this sort of car. On the main road it was ok but when I got onto the winding back road to my house it was totally different. It loves corners and felt fab.

The only misgiving I had about the car was its lack of cruise control, very important round here as we drive long distances on deserted roads with police camera vans all over the place. However, Z4-Forum came to the rescue with sound information and advice and I have the necessary switch winging its way to me courtesy of 24/7 and Bradgate Motors for a princely £36 which is pretty good.

I just explored the computer and it says it is doing 33.6mpg, which is far better than I expected, though I do wonder how accurate that is.

Now I have the car I can post a picture. It's not great as it was taken in the half dark last night when I got home.

Hi, Woozle! The switch didn't come yet, as it was only ordered yesterday from Bradgate.

Thanks everyone for all the friendly welcomes. It has been a beautiful day here today and I had to go to Inverness, which I did with the roof down both ways. It was amazing. :D

The car now says it is doing 36.6mpg. How accurate is the computer? We'll see when I refill the tank.
