Hello

Only just found this place after z4um became defunct. Had a quick browse the other day and saw quite a few familiar names and the board seems quite active which is all good to see. :D

I have an '04 Alpina Roadster S Lux for those interested, owned for over 2 years now and still loving it especially in this weather. :driving: It will probably make an appearance as my avatar shortly.

Glad to be here.

James

Hi James - OK let's see a picture, escpecially as you have a rare beast...

Thanks guys.

Car is not the cleanest in those pics but it was being treated to being driven on some of the best roads in the world. :D Just (finally) editing some of the video footage taken on that trip - just awesome, need to go back this year!!

Welcome and very nice !! I like the Alpina name on the front spoiler.

And, sorry to show my ignorance but is the Alpina model the //M class for Europe ??

Hi there

No we have the Z4M too - Alpina is a specialist BMW tuning company similar to RUF for Porsche or AMG for Mercedes. They do a version of the 3 (petrol and diesel), 5 and 6 series and in the past did a version of the Z8 and Z1 (not sure about Z3, not to my knowledge). Not sure how far they go back but quite a number of years certainly. The Alpina Roadster S filled the gap that was before the Z4M finally came along. Alpina Roadster production stopped just prior to the M coming out rather suspiciously. Alpina would take a fully loaded 3-litre Z4 from Munich, swap the engine for the old M3 powerplant bored out to 3.4 litres, change out the electronic steering, fit Alpina Dynamic 19" rims on with non-run flats, change the shocks and springs, add front and rear Alpina spoilers, bespoke Alpina interior trim and a few other changes I can't remember right now. If you have any other questions I'd be more than happy to try and answer them for you or there are a few other Alpina members on here that I know have a deeper knowledge of the car than me. :D

Thanks for your kind remarks on the car.
