Hello from a Z4MR hopeful

Well, the Elise is sold so I now have a wad of cash burning a hole.
I decided on a Z4m as an antidote to the lightweight precision Elise with the need for more fun and more power now at the top of the priority list.
I have been reading the forum for a couple of weeks and hope to keep on learning in anticipation of a purchase.
I will probably jump into the M specific forum for the most part, but will be looking forward to joining in with some discussion and banter in the near future.

Good luck with your search but do check out all sections of the forum or you'll miss a lot of the extra fun of owning a Zed! Check out the Meets/Runs/Road trip section for example. . .

Greetings Tom,

Recently purchased a Z4MR myself, you will not be disappointed. :driving:

Good luck with your search, & enjoy the forum.

Thanks for the welcome.
It's a good time to buy, but there are not many around at the moment.
I'd be interested to know if anybody knows the red one for sale in Essex?
Seems a good spec with history but is it too cheap prompting suspicions that something is wrong or am I not seeing something.

Would welcome thoughts.

It's been for sale for at least a month or two, there's been a recent price drop as IIRC it was originally up for £13k.

Imola is a fantastic colour, I guess some buyers could be put off by the lack of nav.

It's a Private sale so that's 2k off. Plus check that service History. They have quoted an inspection I at 53k, that should be an Inspection II, cost a lot more and includes Valve clearance checks that are important and not in the Inspection I, as far as I know.

Not the end of the world if it was an inspection I, just insist an inspection II is done, before the sale and take it forward from there.

Hi and welcome. I bought my Z4MR earlier in the year and have smiled every time I drive it.

One thing to check about the Imola M advertised is that there was one put on a thread earlier in the year that was a hire car. Hopefully someone with a better memory than me can recall the thread to check that it's not this one.

Good luck with your search.

Hi and welcome OP :)

Regarding the service it had an inspection 2 at 39k so I see no issues with it, as long as it was done at a reputable indi or main dealer.

OK i' getting old and blind. missed that. No worries on the servicing then.

Getting pretty excited at the prospect, but must not let my emotions get in the way of a sensible and intelligent buy.
I've been lucky that the the last couple of toy cars have actually made money :D
I'm not expecting a Z4m to appreciate, but it is a good candidate.
That's not the point however, it is for driving to the potential the engineers designed into it. If I don't lose money then good for me!
My ideal car was sold about about a month ago :headbang: A black car, red seats, with nice extras and csl wheels for £15k. I just wasn't ready in time.
Still, no rush but would be interested to hear from Z4m owners who are thinking of a sale.

It's OK, it's not the hire car.

Unless there' are horror's hiding when you get there i would ignore the no nav & get what appears to be a decent car at a decent price
£11500 / £11750 ? that would be my target

I waited 2 months to find an example in the spec I wanted. Nina on here waited about a year IIRC.

Daily checks are fun, and ensure when the right car comes up you'll spot it :)
