Hello Everyone :D :D

I really enjoy reading the posts on the Forum so thought it about time I signed up. I have owned my Z4 Coupe since the beginning of June this year and I have enjoyed every minute. My only regret was waiting so long before taking the plunge but I wanted a particular colour with relatively low miles.

I have added a picture of my car. I know the colour is not for everyone but it I love it; horses for courses!!

Not sure about the wheels though; any thoughts anyone???

All the best

Chris

Hello and welcome!

I like the wheels myself, the colour, as you say, horses for courses. If you like it thats all that matters

Welcome. That colour always looks good in bright sunshine. Lots of wheel options if your not keen on the ones you have.

Welcome to the forum, phoenix yellow - a rare and sort after colour
Alloys are 18inch MV2's - standard for the coupe and M Sport roadsters, I like them (although just swapped mine out as they were starting to blister and I fancied gloss black for a change  )

Thanks to you all for the warm welcome :D

Those black wheels make the car look really bad

Aren't the wheels I have on at the minute standard on the E60 5 series too? If not they look very similar and that is what is bugging me, like BMW could'nt be bothered to come up with something new :( I like the split rim 5 spoke wheels that you see on a lot of Coupe's and wondered if they were standard as well; there seems to be a 50-50 split?

What do you think about the wheels that come with the M Coupe? They look really muscular and perhaps a little bit wider? Would they fit straight on to my car?

Look forward to hearing what you have to say,,,,,

If only actual wheel refurbing was a easy as that

Hi OP and welcome to another Coupe owner!

I am starting to like Phoenix Yellow - it makes a change from the various greys and blacks that you see so often!

The 135M wheels you have are also known and MV2s and were also an option on some E46 3 Series models. The split-rim ones you refer to are 108M. As far as I can make out all sport model Coupes came with 135Ms or 108Ms, and SE Coupes had 2 other styles. The main problem with the 135Ms is they are hard work to clean, but the 108Ms are expensive to refurbish because the chemical reaction from corrosion around the steel bolts in the alloy rims tends to make the lacquer bubble over time (thankfully mine had been refurbed quite recently).

Enjoy! :driving:
