Hi,

I'm the new owner of a E85 2.5 Si, it has a few things that needs sorting that I intend to do over the winter, so I'll be spending a lot of time on here.

Based in Scotland , bought the car a few weeks ago and drove it over 400 miles home, which was a good test. Has the usual oil leaks which I'm in the process of sorting.

Hi and welcome to the forum Dan.

I like a long drive home when I pick a car up, but 400 miles is very good going!

Just so you know we like to see photos of new members' cars.

Welcome…Z4 Scottish FB group very active for runs/meets/blather etc

Indeed! I still can't work out why so many people who live in Scotland buy convertibles. It's not exactly the warmest, driest part of the world (or even the UK).

Welcome to the board Dan. Be sure to get those pics up soon, or the forum police will be on your case. 😉

Welcome to the forum, Dan. Has anyone mentioned photo's yet? 😂

Because on that rare occasion when the sun does shine, there's no country like it! ;) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Given the proclivity of indigenous Scots to be in T shirts and shorts whilst outside at this time of year the suggestion that the lack of a roof is in some way limiting to their driving pleasures is invalid..l

It does seem to be the case anecdotally that the Z4 Scottish FB guys do a lot of driving of their cats compared to any other Z4 grouping ..and as for Z3s, F Types etc etc ..

Apologies, these are pictures from the advert for the car.

It's leaking from the rocker cover and oil filter housing. A new rocker cover arrived today and getting the housing gaskets tomorrow.

The oil filter cap, is it a 86mm cap on this?

Thanks for the warm welcome ☺️IMG-20251105-WA0001.jpgIMG-20251105-WA0000.jpg

Unsure of size, but this is the part number 11127500568
I do need a filler cap as I think mine is leaking.

What I mean by size is the black cap on the oil filter. I'm going to need to get a adapter to remove it when I do the filter housing.

Thanks for the part number for the cap 👍

Every single time I have been over the border to the 'colony' it has rained, so I will have to take your word for that.

I have driven up the M6 in glorious sunshine, then as soon as it becomes the M74 it starts to rain. Happened more than once TBH.

Scotland is a beautiful Country completely ruined by the shitty weather IME. :)

Clearly, you chose the wrong days 😂

I've been North of the border 6 times in recent years and have honestly experienced more dry days than wet ones. And I can vouch for most Z3 and Z4 owners tending to get topless at every opportunity!

Apart from Coupe owners obviously.
