Hello and WANTED

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have been looking for a new car for a few months now and having been trying Boxsters and all sorts. I had my first drive in a Z4 coupe 3.0SI the other day and have decided that that is the car. Absolutely loved it. So is anyone looking to sell theirs? The following is the kind of spec I am looking for:

- In the Cheshire area (at least not the other end of the country)
- 2007 (or newer)
- less than 30k miles
- Exterior black or blue (or other if it is an interesting colour)
- Interior can be black or red leather. I like the piano black trim as well
- Full BMW service history
- Preferably some nice 19" wheels (If it has CSL wheels I might just snap your hand off)
- Sounds a bit sad but the car has to have been loved. I couldn't believe that the car I drove had so few miles on it but had been knocked about so badly.
- Looking to pay around £16-£18k.

Cheers, look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome to the Forum and good luck with your search - the right one will be out there. In my signature is a check list to run through when looking to buy pre owned which may be of use.

Cheers, thats a good read! Interesting about the rear springs, seen a few posts on here about them. Is it still something that I should watch out for on a 2007 car? Any telltales?

Hi there, and welcome from me too. Out of interest, how did the zed compare to the Boxter, performance and driver-wise?

Welcome to the Forum ... hope you find your treasure :) when you do be sure to post a picture or two :)

Good Luck !

In answer to the comparison to the Boxster. Its strange really because I have driven a couple and I have felt that I should like them but I have always come away thinking "hmmm nice sound, good dynamics, do everything well", but ultimately they have just left me a little cold and havent captured my heart.

Anyways I went to the BMW festival at Gaydon the other weekend and saw a few Z4 Coupes and decided to have a test drive in one thats on Pistonheads (black with 19" wheels nr Derby). It had supposedly done 14k but the interior was properly knocked about and the only stamp in the book was the PDI. It did drive fantastically though, loved the engine noise and the steering weight and feel was spot on. I also like the way it seems to wrap around you when you get into the drivers seat. To me it feels more special than a Boxster and I think this is compounded by the Coupes being a lot rarer on the road.
