Just bought a 30i sDrive MSort in Space Grey. Currently sitting in a cafe in Paddington so will upload photos etc another time...

Car has 'replaced' an E46 CSL which I sold at the end of last summer...desperate for a convertible, still wanted a BMW. I also have a 320D Msport touring which I've done nearly 100k miles in and use to tow my (MX5) race car.

The Z4 is already one of my favourite cars ever, really enjoying it and roof has been down about 50% of the time so far :-)
 
Welcome along. Sounds nice and glad yo're chuffed with it, esp after an e46 csl!! sounds like you have some interesting cars to come along with too! :thumbsup:

Prefer the folding hardtop so that rules out the E85...and with the CSL I've had the best version of that straight 6 so the E85 I'd have always been comparing with the CSL; quite fancy a 35i next...budget constraints meant 30i was the best fit...

Besides...I've had a few cars that aren't the fastest but deliver huge fun (Smart Roadster for example) and the 30i is plenty fast enough :-)

Like the E30 M3 that I sold in 2001, I'm SURE the CSL will be a car I regret selling...and I was really missing a convertible...

CSL was mine for nearly 3 years and I did everything I wanted to in it...Scotland, Isle of Man, plenty of Evo triangle trips. It wasn't a case of switching from CSL to E89, more a case of 6 months without a 'toy' having cleared the garages for the Mini build...then with the mini finished and time on my hands over christmas it felt like time for a present to myself! CSL is right up there though as one of the best cars I've ever owned. Wasn't cheap though...even on full comprehensive warranty (£4k of warranty work in 2013 alone, and £80 a month for the warranty)) it's an expensive car to run. E89 should be much cheaper to run, insurance company allow me to keep it on the drive, so I'll use it more than I use the CSL...

Oh dear...I think I'm trying to convince myself!

Yes...I was the founder/publisher of Total911 Magazine so wrote a few pieces over the first 48 issues before selling to Imagine Publishing in 2008 (and one or two since actually)

Interestingly I wanted red...but went with black in the end...

I'm already thinking of the spec for the 35i in 2/3 years time..
