Hello folks - long time lurker, but new Z4 buyer here!!

Recently become a proud owner of a MY59 SDrive2.3i in White and I love it (pics below)

I do have one question that I'm hoping you can help me out with... So, I'm assuming the car is drive-by-wire, yes? If it is, it's got a really strange feeling when depressing the throttle - it almost feels like it takes a second from pressing the pedal, to the throttle opening and the car picking up speed??
This doesn't seem to change, no matter what 'mode' the car is in.
Is there a way to reset the pedal, or the ecu that you guys can tell me of, because this power delay is driving me nuts!!

Looking good on the 296s :driving:
Be sure to get some Colour Magic on that red car in last pic :P before it starts to fade :D

Hi and welcome aboard
Had a 23i and the throttle response doesn't sound right ! I don't have any advice except a visit to bmw dealership :(

Try inserting key and pressing the accelerator five time.
Then start up.
Would be interested if you notice a difference.

Is it an auto?

After having two manual e89s my current auto does seem to hesitate a tad when putting the foot down.

Not that I care, love the auto box! :)

Maybe try the S setting?

I've got one. It's certainly more responsive in Sport mode, it might be 'normal' but I'd say I've not noticed a delay on Normal mode. Just that it's a bit less lively.

Thanks for the warm welcomes, folks!

No it's a manual and the response doesn't seem to change in any setting - even Sport+.

I was thinking about disconnecting the battery and leaving it for a few mins, but by the look of it, I don't think it's a traditional battery, is it??

If you can't tell any diff between normal and sport then it's broken. The difference is significant - much livelier, more power, better noise even. Sport to Sport+ additionally turns off the DSC.

Hmm, that's not good - last thing I need at the moment is a trip to BMW when I've only just bought the car!
Might have to invest in a warranty before stepping in there! :feint:

I notice the steering is firmer and the throttle is more responsive (I have a manual). Especially noticeable in higher gears (>4) when the revs are lower, it almost gives the feeling of being more torquey. It is subtle.
