Hello all

Hi people I've just joined up for my old fella really as he is the one with a 53 plate Z4 3.0. Forums are def not his thing so I've jumped accross from the TTForum to ask for some advice.

I'm hoping someone can point us in the right direction of a good indie garage in the Gravesend, Kent area for his servicing and maintenance work.

When you say indie are we talking regular style service or full Inspection 1 etc ?

The friend that looks after my car for what i call old style maintenance is the best and cheap plus he is a Tech for BMW so knows the cars well but i still take my car into BMW for the Inspections.

There is an Indie in Dartford that was set up this year by a colleage of his 10 years BMW experience with Stephen James so knows his stuff i think this is the fella http://www.cragoautorepairs.com/ but i will make sure as not 100%

My dad will want any servicing or maintenance for the zed done by a good indie when its due, I'm assuming that BMW like Audi aren't exactly cheap and you often get a better service with a good indie than main dealers.

@Texasjohn - thanks buddy yes they are QS wheels. Its a 2001 1.8T 225 quattro with a stage2 remap (270bhp approx) and milltek catback, lowered 40mm on full koni sports suspension kit with 15mm front and 25mm rear spacers. Also has the V6/QS rear spoiler and soon to go on the V6/QS front bumper. Various other little mods here and there as well :wink:

No probs when you go in there ask if he used to work at Stephen James with Dave if he answers yes that is the place.

Stephen James charge £174 + vat an hour labour lucky i know Dave he looked after my Calibra for 9 years and she ran like a dream he is a great Mechanic and loves cars himself so understands our passion.

With the Z4 i used the stealers for inspection 1 but anything else i do on my drive with Dave like when i changed the rear springs saves me a lot of money that way.

Tell me about it. I left Shorne which is a village just the other side of Gravesend yesterday afternoon and it took me 1hr 45mins to get to Dartford - 10 miles

I popped in there today and sounds like it is the guy - his name is Richie and he said he did work for Stephen James

His labour charge is £60 hour and the ispection 1 is about £150 - sure thats what he said.

Anyway, thanks for your help hopefully my old man will be looked after by them when he needs anything done
