Hello all,

I'm a longtime member of a UK-based general motoring forum, just signed up here and I'm glad to have finally found one with lots of interesting stuff about my car!

...which is...

2004 E85 3.0i SE Roadster - Maldives Blue with beige Oregon leather. I've had it two and a bit years and I'm loving it. Had a few things go wrong (rear springs (who hasn't), window motor, wheel bearing, a million punctures...) but overall it's been pretty good. So here's a couple of pictures. From the end of a trip to Northumberland last year, so excuse the non-pristine finish!

Welcome.

I too have shared your experience of punctures :(

In 20 years of driving I have never had a puncture, in 3 years I've had 3 in my zed.

Just bad luck, or those RFT's ............? Never mind, they'll be gone soon :)

Indeed. In fact I'm sipping Kenco from my PH mug as I type!

Oh, it's ridiculous isn't it! I'd never had a puncture until I got the Z4. Got a bolt through a half-worn N/S rear, and then a nail in the replacement eight weeks later. Swapped the almost-worn-out O/S rear and got a nail in that six weeks later! In the unlikely event both tyres on an axle get the chance to wear out so I'm replacing both at once it'll either be Michelin PS2 ZP's I can repair, or Michelin PS2 non-ZP's and a space saver spare.

I love Maldives Blue.
Yeah, it's a good colour. Very close to Estoril Blue, which is one of my favourites (after Imola Red). When I was looking to get a Z4 I new I wanted a colour on it, as the bulk of the earlier cars were Sterling Grey, Titanium Silver or Black Sapphire and I wanted something different. I was originally tempted by Bright Red, but as metallic is standard on the 3.0i not many people pick a solid and so they're very rare, and I'm glad I didn't go with it now as solid reds are getting more common on the roads so it's lost a bit of it's impact. So I decided either Maldives Blue or Toledo Blue, which looks brilliant when the sun shines off it, but in the end my car turned up with the options I wanted and I went for it.

Wasn't really tempted by Urban Green. Has anyone seen one of those on the road?

Welcome! Great looking car and great first post with pics!!!

I saw two Red Roadster's today - not the best color for the Z-4. I like it better in the coupe and the Z-3 roadster and coupe.

Also saw a hottie, 'bout my age, in a white roadster today not far from my house... you better believe I'll be hunting that one down and find out if she's taken or not  8) I almost whipped a u-ey and chased after her, but realized that'd be stupid as I was in my truck today

Lots of Zeds between here and WLH's out today :D
