Any particular ambition , hurdle or highpoint on the horizon that could motivate or inspire others then lets hear them :)

Happy New Year Mr Wilks.
I have a highlight and an ambition this year. The highlight is my first ever road trip, going to the south of France with stupot67 and Smartbear in the spring.
My ambition is as I'm only 48yrs young, I want to do my first half marathon before the year is out

I'm hoping to tour Vietnam on a small cheap motorcycle, similar to the Top Gear Special

I'm off for a tour round India in a few weeks. Done Vietnam last year tcochrane, only had scooters in ha long bay tho. Great place, you will love it.

Photos & write up needed for this please

We have everything booked for another visit to the Auvergne region of France (Massif du Sancy) in #308 in August - can't wait.

Yep 2 Andy. A complete change of career and to be fit and well at some point in '17, but you'd not know about that as I don't talk about it on here.......

You need to put yours down you know.

My guess is to hit the bakers dozen with Zeds....

Well as I don't have a plan, never did. I will just second what John has planned. :D

Happy New Year everyone. 2017 could be an interesting year for me. I have just sold my house and it releases a significant amount of equity. Not sure whether to buy a GT4 with the proceeds or pay off a significant amount of our current mortgage. I have always made sensible decisions when it comes to money but now on the other side of 40, I want to live a bit.

If I did go that way, I would fancy a trip to the Porsche Museum at some point. Problem is, I would have to let the Zed go as I have no room in the garage. Nice problem to have though.

Family needs a decent holiday abroad and Mrs H needs to change her car too. I plan to work hard and play hard in 2017...

As Mr Pastry says, our roadtrip is a definite highlight to look forward to :P
I'm also willing my mum to have some better news this year, spent most of yesterday at the hospital as we thought we might be losing her, she pulled through & we all have our fingers crossed. We came home emotionally drained so no party for us.
Payed my mortgage off last year & want to retire & move to the countryside when I'm 55 (just over 3 years time)
It will be a relief to end the shift work & traveling to London

Smartbear – sorry to hear about your Mum's continuing poor health. It's a tough situation to be in, but your Mum is surely thankful for you being by her side.

From a road trip perspective, I've got my sights on heading across to Germany for some derestricted fun and continue up to Scandinavia. Did a similar trip at Christmas about 8 years ago and it was brilliant.

Must be incredible to be able to see retirement and the end of commuting on the horizon! We moved to the countryside a year ago, but we're still doing the commute to London for the foreseeable. We love it out here though. Had the back door open this morning, listening to birdsong.

Ambition wise (because I don't want to call it a New Year's resolution) I'm one stone down on a journey I started in November. Aiming for another three by the summer. Then I'll be taking up some triathlons. To date I've only done duathlon (swim & bike) because I'm relatively crappy at running – for now!

Mrs D6GMB and I have just purchased a wee holiday home on the Isle of Arran and will hopefully be spending a great deal of our spare time on this wonderful wee island next year.Cant wait!!!!.

Happy new year all! Gellukig nieuw jaar!

I'll be completing the first phase of expanding the business come the end of March when the new office build will be completed. Supplying EDM (Engineering Data Management) services to the Benelux and wider European catchment areas as well as providing consulting services to large companies helping them set up their own EDM/PDM systems.

Shell was my first client in Holland in 2001 and the've come back to us time and time again and we'll be helping them set up a bespoke asset-management/BIM system come April. Quivering at the scale of the contract as I'll have to take on some 20 sub-contrators and possibly permanent staff for the office. Previously I've worked from home and worked with individual sub-contractors so this will be a major leap forward. Exciting times.....

Apart from that I'll be eating/drinking less, biking more, maintaining a downward weight trend (comfortably under 100Kg now yay).
I'll also be taking the mickey more out of Pastry Paul, Fred, PVR (easy), Smartbear, JohnE89, BuzyG and the rest of you miscreants on here :poke: :P
I'll also be continuing the search for an E86, hopefully in slightly better condition than my E85 was when I bought it.

If it all goes tits up I'll still be eminently happy. I have my health, friends and family and that's all you really need to get through life!

Tally ho!

And a 'Happy mew year!' from Koosie the kat:

Haven't got any plans as such - since retiring nearly nine years ago time seems to fly by - strange the older you get the quicker the years go by :( Fortunately my wife and I are in good health and we have seven beautiful grandchildren - our " kids " live in all parts of the country ie Cardiff , Hebden Bridge , Staines and Guildford so we travel a lot to visit and will continue to do so this year - our two youngest share our love of Greece and will join us again this year :D

As regards cars will find a decent 4x4 to replace our lost campervan and will stop being paranoid about the zed and use it more

Pull my finger out and swim the Plymouth Breakwater for me, a 2.2 mile sea swim. Might try and do some more relay triathlons after the first one last year which was a blast. Oh, and hopefully fourth time lucky for jumping out a plane! Falling at 100mph will be, interesting...

Happy New Year all !

Well I am hoping for a year without any big repair bills after last year and enjoying the car more.

My big challenge for the year is in February when I am trecking to Everest Base Camp I am pretty excited about going.

Work, work, work, work, work, work go on holiday. Work, work, work, work, work, work go on holiday
Work,work,work,work,work,work Christmas........
