Hi guys ive spent 2 days detailing the zed, so i thought i'd put a few pics on here to show you how its looking now :D

Thanks guys! i used mequiars clay, wax and protector, i did it by hand but i think i'll use a da next time, my arms are killing me :cry:

Stick a private plate on and nobody would know unless you opened the bonnet or checked the dials.
 
Exactly... And you can change the dials and needles. Everyone should have red needles, I love mine :wink:

Actually, there's a mod for you Neil - get an ///M cluster unit from a breakers and change the dials and needles, unless it's already been done ?
 
Funny enough we are looking for a private plate, we got out bid on one in a dvla auction a while back, it was SAM 74M, we were going to put a screw on the 7! but it went up to a silly price in the end :cry:

Ive also sorted the horn and multifunction buttons not working, it was the ribbon cable snapped in the slip ring :thumbsup:
 
I bought the needles from another forum member, and someone on here recently changed the LED colours on their dials... But you don't have the ///M on the dash. Just changing the whole face would be easier. Maybe. I guess the embedded electronics for the mileage etc may be a problem is all.

You would as they can be separated from the circuitry easily, but you'd still need to change the LEDs to white like they are on the ///M, unless you can shift your electronics to the M circuit board. Getting beyond the limits of my knowledge / ability now :oops:
 
Bmwz changed his speedo for an M in his old car.

The mileage is stored in the lcm so i recon if you plug and M speedo it will just work and be correct (except the temp lights on the rev counter will prob always stay lit without an oil temp sensor)

that would save me swapping the faces over then! thanks for the info, is Bmwz still on here? :thumbsup:
 
Love the orange Neil, ordinarily I'm not a huge fan of heavily modded Z's, but I love what you've done to this car (bar the ///M badges :wink: ), looks mean 8)

Nice and shiny as well!
