Tire blew out, nearly careened off a bridge.

I think it's about time to get rid of the Conti's. What tires are recommened for the Z4 Ms. Advice?

What do you look for in a good tire anyway

I don't have to worry about season changes either if it matters.

Talk about tires...look what happened to mine. I've been a baaaaad girl :? All better now...new shoes all around.

I recently replaced my old tyres with a set of Toyo proxes TR1's.
They are miles better than the conti's, giving more steering feel and grip (dry & wet).

They are also quite reasonably priced, which cant be said of the PS2's.

I just put on a set of Pirelli P-Zero's, and they are a great tire for the cost and are easy to locate. They have good traction on dry and wet pavement, much better thatn the Conti's.

Evo did a tyre test this month and they actually chose Goodyear's Eagle-F1 as the best tyres. I think I will try some of these when I finish burning my Contis.

I have had F1's on both of my Zed and have no complaints. Really excellent tires...

You were driving around on those?!?!

I dunno if you get Toyo Proxes T1-R's over there, but I've got them on the M5 and the Z1 and they are damn fine. The wet grip is astonishing.

The ones tested were the new Asymetrics

Trouble is, Toyo couldn't supply any T1-R for the test :(

I'm also a big T1-R (and previously T1-S) fan. Not tried them on the Z4 yet, but there are a pair on the rear of my wife's 320 Cd, I had a set on my Cerbera, a set on my wife's old Pug 206CC and four sets on my old Subaru Impreza. Ah, and I think we had a set on the wife's Merc CLK 320 too :D

The issue here is that although you'll get plenty of recommendations, ultimately it'll come down to your preference which suits your driving style as much as other's opinions. Personally, I hated both the T1-S and T1-R tyres fitted to my old Impreza and wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, however, the GSD-3s already mentioned would suit the job admirably.

But then, you might not like them of course...
