Nowadays, the number of headlights with white light and brightness of 12,000 Lumen class is increasing worldwide.
I've heard that they light up instantly and consume little power, so I recommend them.
However, they are weak in snow.

Simply replace your HID banner with an LED banner and plug in the connector.

Would these be road legal in the UK ? Lots of people have LED bulbs in their halogen units with blindin effects on oncoming traffic. The lens in HID lamps tends to fix that issue but I guess there is always the MOT fail issue to worry about…

Simple answer is no…certain LED lights are designed as retrofittable to certain halogen based lamps in certain countries…but not here..generally the ones that are legal in those countries are not dramatic improvements as their max light output is still limited..non are approved for UK use..due to our quirky national regs..a benefit of Brexit..

I have confirmed that the MOT regulations prohibit changing from halogen bulbs to HID or LED, but what about changing from HID?
Also, if it is an E89 HID banner, the light source is cut off with a shutter, so I don't think changing to LED is relevant. There are many advantages such as brightness and quick lighting, so new vehicles are LED.

New HID bulbs in an E89 offer pretty good lighting..problem is now some of the cars are 15 years old the Xenon discharge bulbs age rather than fail..Philips and Osram do slightly uprated 35w versions and if you were really keen yoou could fit 55w with new ballasts

Also the mirror behind the lens also tarnishes creating a ‘cataract’ effect even with new bulbs. There was a guy however on here who located a company that can offer replacement reflectors. I ended up changing my whole headlights because of this issue using OEM ones rather the ‘official’ BMW branded lamps even though they are the same manufacturer (Hella)
