Heater stuck on full heat - ideas?

Hi,

I have had a search and I can't really find much on this problem. I have just been away on holiday for 2 weeks so the car has sat there for all that time. Just went to drive it yesterday to find that the air ducts would only give out hot air on both the auto climate control and also when I went onto the fully manual mode. I tried moving between full heat and full cold multiple times to see if I could get it working but it didn't. I have full control of the fan speeds so it seems like it isn't in transportation mode either. A/C seems to kick in like usual too and I can change which air ducts it comes out of so it seems only the temperature I cannot currently control.

Any ideas what and where I should be checking?

Edit - I have a 54 plate 3.0i.

Not sure what the problem is, however this document http://www.bmwclub.lv/files/07_E85_Heating__and__Air_Cond.pdf might be of interest, I know it is for a 07 plate, but it might offer some areas to check.

Hope you get it sorted soon

It's the resistor for the blower motor if it may have been going are that it would take more than the usual time to change from defrost vents to front vents and so on.
If its blowing but won't change from hot to cold then it may be a blend door motor going bad.
