Heater motor resistor

Hi
I have a 2.0i 2008 Z4 and the heater blower resistor has stopped working. BMW has stopped making the part and a new manufacturer is working on supplying the part again but not until April 2021. I cannot find a replacement part anywhere that will work, any ideas on how I can source a part or fix as with the car as it is I cant clear the screens, heat the car. Getting seriously frustrated with it now.

What’s the part no? If you link it out it will mean your fan runs at full speed all the time. Not ideal but at least you can clear your windscreen.

Put an enquiry in at http://www.quarrymotors.co.uk/ with that part number. I'd be very surprised if they didn't have any kicking around.

Hey

I ran BMW 64116915731 on the USA ebay and a lot of heater resistors were listed by various sellers. I've no idea there shipping terms or if they would ship to the UK. If your going to bid/buy contact the seller to make sure they'll ship to the UK. I have no idea on your custom laws but, this is just a car part. Paypal makes it EZ to make payment to sellers in other countries.

However, if you haven't done so already check your UK Ebay maybe there listed on there as well.

trying to help ....I'd hate to not have a heater in winter.

UK ebay brings back one in Spain, best try Quarry Motors here in the uk, it will be a used item if they have one otherwise one of our resident Breakers might come up with one.

Have you got the right part number, Real OEM returns 64116927600 for that vehicle https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=BZ12-EUR-04-2008-E85-BMW-Z4_20i&diagId=64_1291. It would be worth ringing Cotswold BMW parts desk and checking with them.

One thing I would say is get OEM if you can, I had to replace the one in my E36 and the axiom of pay cheap pay twice couldn't be more true.
