Heated seats question - Are the cars prewired?

Hi

I own a 2006 Z4 Coupe and wondered if I purchased some heated seats, and then added the buttons, would they just work ie is the cabling and other bits present in all cars? And are the only differences between a car without heated seats the buttons and the seats themselves?

Only cars before sep 04 are prewired so yours won't be.

Marlon did the retrofit of wiring to his I believe with a X3 wiring loom, there's a thread on here
