Heated seats not working

Got in the car Monday, freezing cold so pressed for heated seats, green buttons lit up for a second then nothing (on either seat). Strangely, all the brake warning lights were on the dash. Went for the turn off/on magic trick and the brake warning lights all gone (no brake problems) but still no heated seats. The green lights light up for a second then go off.

I was thinking fuse but it's been pouring and so not got into the glove box to look but I wouldn't have thought the green lights would have come on at all if that were the case. Can't think its the seat as both affected.

Any thoughts :? ?

The switch block is supplied from 2 fuses, a 5A control circuit, and a 25A heat circuit (#16). If it's not the big fuse, I've no idea what would cause the symptoms you describe.

Exactly the same symptoms as my misses smart car.Heated seat light would come on then turn off a second later(on either side)Just a simple fuse replacement, id bet money on it being a fuse. :)

I had the same problem, both seats lights would come on then go off, so replaced fuse and was all fine. But a week later the passenger seat heats up fine and the drivers one lights come on then go off when you press it, any ideas anyone??

Welcome to the forum!

My best guess, such that it is, is there's a problem with the temperature sensor in the driver's seat. Once it gets current, it does something that causes the controller to shut down the heating function. If so, there should be fault codes stored in the switching centre. You may need DIS to read the faults, I'm not sure OBD II readers can access it, unless it's via some aux. system query. The standard emissions query will not return anything.

You would be a winner. One 25A fuse later and all good. Thanks for the advice.

:o

Drivers side heated seat not working, press button to turn on, 3 green lights flash and stay off. Passenger heated seats working perfectly, have checked fuses and looked under drivers seat and disconnected and reconnected electrical connections under the seat.
Heated seat still does not work, any ideas most welcome.
