Heated seat no working.

Hi peeps, when I press the heat button it lights up for a few seconds and then it starts flashing. I'm guessing the heating element has had it. Does anyone know if this is a quick fix or an expensive fix, thanks.

It might be worth checking that the large electrical connector under the seat is fully engaged. It might also be worth whipping the seat out to ensure that all wiring is intact and that all the pins on the male and female connectors are in good shape.

Welcome to the forum, what seats do you have ?
How long have you had the car, have the seats got wet. Get some photos of your car on :)

M sport seats, I have only had the car for about 4 months so I don't know if they have gotten wet. Thanks for the welcome.

If you can id the element wires under the seat put a test meter on the two wires to and from the element and see if you have continuity to prove that the element is intact or broken. If you dont get a reading then that would indicate the circuit is broken hence not heating up. Will meen stripping the seat to get to the heating pad. If its gone you may be able to repair with a short length of wire soldered into the break gap. Might be able to fit a replacement seat pad from ebay and wire that in to the exhisting plug under the seat.

So have they ever worked while you have had the car. If not, it may be worth trying to dry the seats out first

Thanks guys, colb I have test the wiring and its that. Cheers firebobby luckily the seats are dry. My seat heats up very nicely it's the wife's side that doesn't work, ah well, tough on her.

Brave man, if my passenger seat, heater didn't work, I would have a whining noise coming from that area :D

firebobby, I leave her at home, if it's dry the roof is down. She moans it's too cold at 7C. The bloody wimp.

The last time she came out for a drive with me she had hats, gloves, and two coats. I had a tee-shirt and a jacket. She said it was too cold and no fun.

My Wife loves going out in the Zed..as long as I'm driving it.
I just fitted M sport seats to my car, had to swap the bases as my old seats were powered and the new ones were manual. Quite easy to take these apart..when you know how
