Heated mirrors?

Is it possible to retro fit heated mirrors to an E85 that only has unheated electrically adjustable mirrors?

Apart from the mirrors themselves, what else is required in the way of wiring/switches etc?

My car is a 2007 model 2.0i - With winter coming I'd like to get heated mirrors (and maybe seats too?)

Regards

Hi, as far as I know all e85 mirrors are heated-no switches are fitted as they’re on all the time!

Well if they are heated mirrors fitted, they certainly aren't working on my car

Haven't tried taking them apart to check, but maybe that should be my next port of call?

I just checked my BMW sales brochure and they are listed as heated on the 2.0iSE, so you should have them OP.

They don't have a separate switch - I think they heat when you put the heated rear screen on.

AHA!! Maybe that's it.... Don't think I've ever turned the heated rear screen on yet! DOH!

They are on all the time, not just when the rear window is on. One of the reasons they like to fall off.

That could be the case here and non heated ones re fitted.

Oh well, you live and learn.

But if they all have heated, presumably you'd have to try pretty hard to find a non-heated glass!

Hi
The mirrors are on,all the time.
Check the conection behind the glass mirrors.
I found one conection out and I fixed and everything works fine. :driving:

This.
If you had one working and the other not, I'd say wire problem or connection or something along those lines. Since both aren't working I'd assume that like srhutch says they've been replaced with mirrors that don't have the de-mist function simply because they're cheaper.
