Heated door mirror issues

Hi All

For some time I've had an issue on my E85 where as the passanger side door mirror does not heat up, I have checked the fuses.

The driver one works fine

So I assumed it was the mirror, so I fitted a new one to no avail.

I checked the voltages and they struggle to reach 4.8volts

Checked the negative to the earth and that's fine, then checked positive to earth rather than to the negative at the mirror andbthat returns 5volts, I did assume it would be 12v but maybe that's not true and my new after market mirror is just dodgy

Anyone got any ideas

Hmm just checked both my old mirror and the new one and the multi meter says they have a closed circuit, basically I think the new one is goosed

Should they not be closed circuit as it is just a heating element, can you check against the driver's side , as you know that one works and you could compare the volts as well

I did think to do that too, however I am reluctant to do so due sensative nature I found the passanger side to be, I cracked the housing plate, I don't fancy doing that again but will do if I have too 👍
