Heat shield + steering shaft

Quick question has anyone managed to take the heat shield out along with the steering shaft?

Its on a 2 litre….

Not to change the subject but it looks like your strut bracket is cracked. If you get it replaced get the one for the M cars as they are much beefier and they are cheap.

They look like the originals, but they are much beefier. Whereas the originals are just stamp sheetmetal. I changed both of mine that were cracked, and while it wasn't hard you do need a welder to do it yourself. If not, you would need to hire it out.
